Have your layout reviewed before it goes into production.

An independent look before boards are ordered: we check your layout against the schematic and datasheets. You receive an annotated list of concrete changes.

We agree the scope with you in advance. Typical checks include:

  • Current paths and switch nodes of switching regulators
  • Grounding concept and shielding of interfaces
  • Comparison with the layout recommendations in the datasheets
  • Insulation and safety clearances and thermal behaviour
  • Manufacturability and assembly

The review combines hardware design and layout practice: we check whether the layout supports the electrical function of the circuit and whether it can be manufactured.

PROJECT EXAMPLE

Review of a mixed-signal layout.

A layout with audio, radio, display and battery supply had to be checked before production. We compared regulator current paths, switch nodes, USB shielding, SD card routing and the grounding concept with the datasheets. The result: annotated findings with concrete changes, for example a minimal copper area at the boost converter's switch node.

Questions about the layout review.

Which ECAD formats can you review?

We work with Altium Designer, Siemens PADS, KiCad, Fusion 360 and TARGET 3001!, among others. Other tools are agreed in advance.

Do you also change the layout yourselves?

If you wish, yes. The review first delivers the findings; you can implement them yourself or give them to us as a PCB layout project.

Who reviews my layout?

David Malczewski and Florian Hocher, the founders of ReLaEx. We do not pass work on to unknown subcontractors.
